Define the complete site scope
Begin with architectural and landscape drawings, brand standards, site surveys, tenancy information and the people who will use the site. Building identification, pylons, directories, wayfinding, statutory signs, operational messages and interior branding can then be captured in one location schedule. This establishes the boundaries of the package, identifies interfaces with other trades and gives stakeholders a practical basis for scope review and procurement.

Coordinate stakeholders, messages and approvals
Commercial signage often crosses client, builder, architect, brand, facility, landlord and authority requirements. A controlled artwork and message register records what each sign says, where it sits and who approves it. Planning, building, engineering, accessibility, electrical and site-specific documentation needs can be mapped to the relevant sign types, with responsibilities and release hold points made clear before manufacture.

Resolve the design against the real environment
Viewing distance, sightlines, architecture, landscape, materials, illumination, fixing surfaces and maintenance access shape the solution. Site verification connects design intent to measured conditions, while prototypes or samples can settle critical colours, finishes, letter depth and lighting. Approved artwork, materials, engineering inputs and site dimensions need to reach production in a controlled sequence. A fabrication schedule can group sign types around construction access, dependencies and required-on-site dates, with quality checks tied to the approved standard. Where the scope covers many signs or locations, status reporting gives the project team visibility of artwork, approval, manufacture, delivery and installation rather than a single undifferentiated completion date.

Install, hand over and close the package
Installation planning covers inductions, permits, work areas, access equipment, lifting, traffic and pedestrian separation, electrical interfaces, live-site restrictions and coordination with surrounding trades. Sign locations and completion records can then be checked against the schedule, with variations, defects and outstanding access documented.
