Turn the brand standard into a usable place.

Corporate signage has to connect identity, arrival, navigation and everyday changes across the building—and remain repeatable when the organisation has more than one address.

  • Arrival and brand hierarchy
  • Location and message register
  • Repeatable multi-site standards
  • Change and maintenance planning
01

Map the complete corporate environment

Begin with the external approach, building entry, reception, directories, meeting rooms, departments, amenities, glazing and staff-facing operational information. Recording each location and message in one schedule shows where the brand needs to lead, where people need direction and where statutory or changing information has a separate role. This avoids treating the reception logo as the whole signage brief.

02

Set a clear arrival and navigation hierarchy

Visitors should be able to recognise the organisation, find the reception point and understand their next decision without competing messages. Viewing distance, architecture, lighting and the sequence between external identification, lobby branding, directory and first direction shape the hierarchy. Planning that journey together gives feature signage and wayfinding a shared visual language while keeping functional information easy to use.

03

Control names, artwork and approvals

Corporate environments change as teams, rooms, tenants and services move. A controlled message register and artwork process establishes the approved company name, brand files, room and department terminology, sign locations and responsible approvers. Repeatable layouts can then absorb future changes without redesigning every sign, and replaceable components can be specified where information is expected to move.

04

Build a standard that allows site variation

Multi-site organisations need common sign types, colours, finishes, artwork rules and quality expectations, but buildings rarely present identical walls, entries or planning conditions. A rollout standard should define what remains fixed, what may adapt and how exceptions are approved. Consistent surveys and location schedules keep local constraints visible while protecting the brand across new sites, refurbishments and replacements.

05

Plan installation, handover and future updates

Fixing surfaces, concealed services, completed finishes, occupied areas, access windows and removal of superseded signs influence the installation sequence. The handover should record installed locations, approved artwork, materials, warranties and any replaceable elements. Giving facilities and brand teams that controlled record makes later room, personnel or site changes easier to brief and keeps replacement work aligned with the established standard.
